Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support licensed pharmacists in a hospital setting. This part-time role covers 3rd shift (20:00-06:30) with every-other Thursday-Monday scheduling and potential additional shifts, totaling about 25 hours per week.

You will assist in preparing, labeling, and distributing medications, while ensuring accuracy and safety in patient care. Ideal candidates have high school diploma or GED, state registration or licensure as required, and Pharmacy

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State board licensure/registration required for the state of employment.
• Must obtain CPhT or ExCPT within 18 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Assists licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Accurately selects, prepares, and labels medications, including hazardous drugs.
• Assists with medication distribution tasks.
• Screens phone calls and routes as needed using proper etiquette.
• Assists in inventory control and outdate checking.
• Completes documentation for removing, stocking, and wasting controlled substances.
• Performs nonsterile compounding per USP standards where applicable.
• Performs sterile IV admixture as defined by the facility.
• Inspects storage areas for adherence to policies.
• Gathers patient demographics and enters data for records and billing.
