Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of math, metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology essential.
  • General knowledge of office procedures such as filing and record keeping essential.
  • Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills essential.
  • CPhT certification or enrollment in ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required.
  • Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration or Texas Pharmacy Intern License required.
  • ACPE IV certification preferred but not required.

Location: Medical Center - Fort Worth Department: Pharmacy Shift: Varying Shifts (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40

Summary:

The Pharmacy Tech I assists the pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass answering phones, recording, filing, and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technical tasks will be performed after experience is gained, and necessary skills and competency demonstrated. Documentation of training must be on file prior to working independently. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of an experienced pharmacist.

Education & Experience:

High School or Equivalent Required.

Certification/Licensure:

Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.

ACPE IV certification preferred but not required.
