Primarily 2nd shift with rotating weekends; state retirement and health benefits are provided. A high school diploma and a SC-registered technician credential are required, with 2+ years of retail pharmacy/med history experience preferred.

Job Description

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations' functions related to: (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re-stock, etc); and, (3) completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (aminoglycoside protocol orders, drug charges & credits etc)

Education

• High School Diploma required; college-level courses desirable but not required; successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program required.

Experience

• (Preferred) two or more years of experience retail pharmacy/med history.

Licensures/Certifications

• Pharmacy Technician Registration for South Carolina.
