Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a state-certified pharmacy technician to join the inpatient team in Florence, South Carolina on a PRN basis. You will assist pharmacists with medication preparation, distribution, and accuracy of patient records in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Requirements include a high school diploma, completion of a certified pharmacy technician program, and state certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; certified pharmacy technician training program completed.
• State Certified Pharmacy Technician license.
• Two+ years hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparation and distribution of medications.
• Maintain drug inventories and restock automated dispensing cabinets.
• Document and manage patient drug therapy records and charges.

Job Description Summary

Seeking state certified pharmacy tech to join our inpatient team in Florence, SC on a PRN basis!

Responsibilities

Working under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s), the pharmacy technician assists in all pharmacy operations' functions related to: (1) preparation & distribution of all doses of medication; (2) maintenance of drug inventories (e.g., re-stocking automated dispensing cabinets throughout the hospital, drug packaging/re-packaging, extemporaneous compounding, code cart re‑stock, etc); and, (3) completion of patients' records pertaining to drug therapy (aminoglycoside protocol orders, drug charges & credits etc).

Schedule

Primarily days/rotating shifts.

Education

• High School Diploma required; college-level courses desirable but not required; successful completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program required

Experience

• (Preferred) two or more years of experience in a hospital or health system.

Licensures/Certifications

• State Certified Pharmacy Technician
