Spectrum Healthcare Resources in Lisbon, OH, is seeking a civilian Pharmacy Tech to support the FCI/FSL Elkton Health Services Department. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 0600–1700, and involves preparing and verifying prescriptions, using BEMR, and providing pharmacological assistance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a pharmaceutical tech program that qualifies for state licensure/certification.
• Three letters of reference
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination, TB skin test or chest radiography, and AHA CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescription orders.
• Utilize BEMR to process orders.
• Verify prescription orders.
• Answer pharmaceutical questions as needed.
• Distribute medications at the pill line.
• Working knowledge of Pyxis machine.
• Inventory and stocking of pharmacy supplies.
• Check medications for expiration dates.
• Assist and monitor in the accountability of sharps.
• Assist Pharmacist in the proper disposal of expired and confiscated medication.
• General cleanliness and assist in orderly running of the Pharmacy area.
• Maintain a safe, clean and secure work area at all times.
• Perform quality assurance protocol weekly maintenance.
