Job summary

Premier Health is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, OH. This full-time role (80 hours per pay period) supports a 2:30-11:00 pm shift under pharmacist supervision, performing data entry, labeling, stock, and compounding tasks both sterile and non-sterile.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, PTCB certification, and Ohio Pharmacy Board registration or eligibility within 45 days. Prior hospital/retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; ASHP/ACPE-accredited program preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) and Ohio Board of Pharmacy registration or eligible within 45 days.

Responsibilities

• Enter information into and retrieve from patient profiles/databases.
• Prepare and affix labels for medications.
• Stock dangerous drugs and retrieve from inventory.
• Count and pour dangerous drugs into containers.
• Place dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist.
• Non-sterile drug compounding after site-specific training.
• Sterile drug compounding after site-specific training.
• Stock automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts.

Stocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts**Qualifications****Education****Minimum Level of Education Required:** High School completion / GED* **Preferred educational qualifications**: Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training program**Licensure/Certification/Registration*** Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)* Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.**Experience****Minimum Level of Experience Required:** No prior job-related work experience**Preferred experience:** Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred**Knowledge/Skills*** Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills* Able to read and write printed material in English* Proficiency with computer keyboard operations* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred* Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage* Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software* Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member* Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
