Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician II to join our Medication History team. You will support BPMH efforts for admitted patients, under supervision of a medication history pharmacist, ensuring accurate medication lists for clinical decision-making.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1–2 years pharmacy experience, VA registration, and be ready to obtain board certification within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completed Pharmacy Technician training course preferred.
• Licensed/registered with Virginia Department of Health Professionals required.
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 6 months.
• 1–2 years of pharmacy experience required.
• Must maintain familiarity with a large medication list and attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to use office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with BPMH by collecting accurate medication histories.
• Work under medication history pharmacist oversight.
• Interact with patients to gather complete medication information.
• Maintain accurate medication records and perform basic time/mathematical tasks.
