Qualifications

• Current national pharmacy technician certification (CPhT) or ExCPT required.
• Must hold an active Maryland Board of Pharmacy registration as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Minimum of three years of recent pharmacy practice experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of prescription processing, calculations, medication safety, and pharmacy operations.
• Prior teaching or workforce development experience preferred.
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s preferred.
• Willingness to complete instructor training or education coursework.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with instructional technology and LMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver curriculum aligned with certification standards and regulations.
• Teach classroom and lab components including pharmacology, calculations, law and ethics, and compounding.
• Utilize Canvas to support in-person, online, and hybrid instruction.
• Prepare students for national certification examinations and entry-level employment.
• Assess student performance through exams, assignments, simulations, and demonstrations.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, progress, and certification readiness.
• Ensure compliance with program requirements and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with Workforce Development staff, faculty, and employers to enhance learning outcomes.
• Provide academic advising and career readiness support to students.
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice and certification requirements.
• Participate in curriculum review and quality improvement activities.
• Promote professionalism and ethical decision-making among students.
