Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Ability to pass urine drug screen and background checks ( FBI fingerprint clearances ).

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain medication inventory.
• Prepare medications for pharmacist verification.
• Deliver medications to patient care areas.
• Conduct medication room inspections.
• Assist with manual and automated medication repackaging.
• Provide technical support to pharmacy staff.
• Perform pharmacy-related clerical duties.
• Assist with medication distribution and inventory processes.
• Provide guidance to other staff as needed.
• Follow all hospital, HHSC, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy policies and standards; exercise appropriate initiative within the board's scope.

CornerStone Medical is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support a State Hospital in Austin, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician looking for a stable weekday assignment, competitive pay, and the opportunity to work in a state healthcare environment.

Position Details

• Pay: $30.00/hour
• Location: Austin, TX
• Contract: 3 months minimum
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:30 PM OR 8:30 AM-5:30 PM
• Training: Candidates must be available for 9 consecutive days of training, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining medication inventory
• Preparing medications for pharmacist final verification
• Delivering medications to patient care areas
• Conducting medication room and area inspections
• Assisting with manual and automated medication repackaging
• Providing technical support to pharmacy staff
• Performing pharmacy-related clerical duties
• Assisting with medication distribution and inventory processes
• Providing guidance and assistance to other staff as needed
• Following all applicable hospital, HHSC, and Texas State Board of Pharmacy policies, procedures, regulations, and professional standards
• Exercising appropriate initiative and independent judgment within the scope permitted by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

Required Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician registration in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
• Experience in pharmaceutical assistance work
• Ability to successfully complete a urine drug screen
• Ability to successfully pass a background check
• Ability to successfully pass an FBI fingerprint background check
• Availability for the full contract and required training schedule
