Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources is seeking a civilian Pharmacy Tech for a position at the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Lisbon, OH. The role involves supporting the pharmacy with prescription processing, verification, and medication distribution in a structured federal setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a pharmaceutical tech program that qualifies for state licensure/certification.
• Three letters of reference required.
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination, TB skin test or chest radiography, and AHA CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescription orders.
• Process orders using BEMR.
• Verify prescription orders.
• Answer pharmaceutical questions as needed.
• Distribute medications at the pill line.
• Inventory and stocking of pharmacy supplies.
• Check medications for expiration dates.
• Assist pharmacist with disposal of expired or confiscated medications.

Overview: Spectrum Healthcare Resources, a premier healthcare services provider, is seeking a dedicated civilian Pharmacy Tech for a potential opportunity at The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office in Lisbon, OH.

Hours of Performance:Monday to Friday, 0600-1700 (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Prepare prescription orders.


• Utilize BEMR to process orders.


• Verify prescription orders.


• Answer pharmaceutical questions as needed.


• Distribute medications at the pill line.


• Working knowledge of Pyxis machine.


• Inventory and stocking of pharmacy supplies.


• Check medications for expiration dates.


• Assist and monitor in the accountability of sharps.


• Assists Pharmacist in the proper disposal of expired and confiscated medication.


• General cleanliness and assist in orderly running of the Pharmacy area.


• Maintain a safe, clean and secure work area at all times.


• Perform quality assurance protocol weekly maintenance.

Qualifications
