Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Team Leader Pharmacy to develop, lead, and coach a service-conscious pharmacy team that builds patient relationships by exceeding needs and providing safe, accurate, and efficient patient care to achieve optimal outcomes for patients, staff, and the company.

The role requires 1–3 years of pharmacy experience with at least 3 months licensed as a Pharmacist, and a Bachelor's degree. Supervisory experience is preferred and immunization certification may be required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years pharmacy experience, including a minimum of 3 months of licensed work as a Pharmacist
• Previous supervision experience preferred
• Education required: Bachelor's Degree

Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to the safe and efficient dispensing of all patient orders by following quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging and meeting or exceeding patient needs including counseling and problem solving.
• Perform duties of a Pharmacist including interpreting, filling and refilling prescriptions, reviewing clinical aspects of prescriptions, maintaining up-to-date patient profiles, and ensuring accurate medications/durable medical equipment.
• Demonstrate adherence to all policies, laws and regulations through example and coaching.
• Provide an optimal team and patient experience by scheduling, delegating work, and using supplies efficiently.
• Manage inventories by tracking daily reports, overseeing counts, and ensuring proper medication and supply handling to meet patient needs and maximize profits.
• Work with Supermarket team including Pharmacy District Leader, Corporate Pharmacy team, Store Leader and Regional Business Leader to ensure maximum efficiency and profitability.
• Supervise, coordinate and oversee staff development and empowerment to ensure engagement and improved department services.
• Maintain a neat and sterile work environment in compliance with all requirements.
• Review and analyze service and business metrics and contribute to action plans to improve outcomes.
• Complete required audits and paperwork.
• Provide direct supervision and coaching to team members following guidelines.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment for all team members.
• Administer immunizations and participate in clinical services to optimize patient and company outcomes.
• Mentor/train new team members in Pharmacy Lead roles and execute company initiatives.
• Stay informed on new drugs and developments in the pharmacy industry.
• Maintain professional competency and advocate for positive change in pharmacy to improve patient care and company performance.
• Build rapport with physicians, nurses, and vendors.
