Job summary

Giant Eagle is seeking a Graduate Pharmacist to join a service-oriented pharmacy team. You will build relationships with patients by providing safe, accurate and efficient care while supporting the pharmacy’s operations.

This entry-level role requires a Bachelor's degree, 0–6 months experience and licensure steps including pharmacy license progression, CPR and immunization certification as mandated by the state. Training and mentorship are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 0–6 months experience preferred.
• Pharmacy license in process; Immunization license and CPR certification; state requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in safe and efficient dispensing by data entry, counting medications and double-checking prescriptions.
• Counsel patients and support excellent patient care.
• Adhere to company, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
• Maintain a neat and sterile work environment to meet government requirements.
• Review service metrics and assist team with improvement plans.
• Maintain inventory by submitting online orders and managing stock levels.
• Assist in preparing physical inventories and supporting management.
• Support team to optimize patient experience through proper delegation and efficient use of supplies.
• Mentor/training of new pharmacy staff.
• Plan and assist in store/community outreach programs.
• Communicate current events or changes in pharmacy practice to the team.
• Assist with daily/weekly reports and required forms.
• Notify manager of coaching/training needs for pharmacist role.
• Perform routine duties of Pharmacy Technician as needed.
