Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to assist in packaging, distribution of drugs and supplies under direct supervision. This role supports both ambulatory and inpatient services and involves sterile product preparation as needed.

Qualified candidates must hold a NYS Pharmacy Technician license and PTCB certification, with strong communication, PC literacy and customer service skills. Availability Fridays and weekends, with potential holiday shifts, is required.

Qualifications

Overview

For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions, assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies.


• Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department, including ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services.


• Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control.


• Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a part-time position, hours, 7:30 am 4:00 pm, must be able to work every Friday, every weekend may also need to work on holidays.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.


• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on-the-job training.


• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license is required.


• Valid PTCB certification is required.


• Must pass a Pharmacy Technician test.


• This position requires knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures.


• Excellent communications, customer service and business interpersonal skills.


• This position requires PC, Windows and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.


• Must be able to work every Friday, every weekend and may also need to work on holidays.
