Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist in packaging, distributing drugs, and stocking supplies under pharmacist supervision. This role covers ambulatory and inpatient distribution, sterile product prep, and inventory control in a dynamic hospital setting.

Candidates must have a NYS Pharmacy Technician license, PTCB certification, and complete pharmacy tech training. Strong communication and PC literacy are essential; weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• Valid PTCB certification is required.
• Must pass a Pharmacy Technician test.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures.
• Excellent communications, customer service and business interpersonal skills.
• PC, Windows, and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
• Must be able to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions, assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies.
• Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department, including ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services.
• Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control.
• Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required.

8:00am - 4:30pm, must be able to work every other weekend.
