Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist in packaging, manufacturing, and distribution of drugs and supplies across ambulatory and inpatient settings. You will help with sterile product preparation and inventory control, under pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities include procurement of inventory and use of automated systems; candidates must have a NYS license, PTCB certification, and completion of a technician program. Shift: Evening, with every other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on the job training.
• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• Valid PTCB certification is required.
• Must pass a Pharmacy Technician test.
• Knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practices.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Under direct supervision of a pharmacist and in accordance with specific and detailed instructions assists in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution of drugs and supplies. Performs various non-judgmental functions in all areas of the department including, ambulatory and inpatient drug distribution, sterile product preparation, manufacturing and packaging as well as provision of ambulatory services. Responsible for the procurement of inventory and inventory control. Performs other related duties and utilizes automated and computerized technology as required.

WORK SCHEDULE

1:00 pm 9:30 pm, must be able to work every other weekend.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program or equivalent on the job training.
• Valid NYS Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• Valid PTCB certification is required.
• Must pass a Pharmacy Technician test.
• This position requires knowledge of pharmaceuticals and inventory control practice and procedures.
• Excellent communications, customer service and business interpersonal skills.
• This position requires PC, windows and other business or pharmacy computer system literacy.
• Must be able to work every other weekend.
