Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus 600 practical hours in retail or pharmacy operations.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information into computer systems, including patient search, prescriber search, drug selection, and insurance billing.
• Accept patient and prescription information for processing new and refilled prescriptions, including refill authorizations where permitted by law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory where permitted by state law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers where permitted by state law.
• Package medications into prescription containers where permitted by state law.
• Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and input data into computer systems where permitted by law.
• Maintain the Pharmacy department’s cleanliness and order.
• Assist with inventory management, including order review, inventory returns, restocking shelves, and physical inventory prep.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
