Weis Markets is seeking a Pharmacy Service Representative to provide prompt service in the Pharmacy Department and handle prescription data entry, insurance billing, and basic problem resolution. The role involves inventory management, labeling, and maintaining an orderly Pharmacy area.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED plus 600 practical hours in retail or pharmacy operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus 600 practical hours working in retail and/or pharmacy operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions and duties of a Pharmacy Service Representative to ensure prompt service in the Pharmacy Department.
• Enter prescription information into the computer, including patient and prescriber searches, drug selection, prescription interpretation and entry, insurance billing and basic problem resolution.
• Process new and refill prescriptions, including refill authorizations from doctors where allowed by state law.
• Retrieve medications from inventory in compliance with state law.
• Create prescription labels and place them on containers where allowed by state law.
• Place medications into containers and complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions.
• Input customer and prescription data into the computer system as required by law.
• Assist in maintaining the Pharmacy department, keeping it clean and orderly.
• Assist inventory management: order review, returns, restocking shelves, physical inventory prep.
• Reconstitute oral liquids where permitted by state law.
