Job summary

Trinity Health in Waterloo, IA is seeking a Pharmacy Resident for 2027-2028 to launch your career through a residency experience that blends clinical practice, operational learning, and professional development.

Residents join the patient care team, gain hands-on experience across pharmacy practice areas, and participate in diverse rotations and projects that build expertise in patient care, pharmacy operations, leadership, and quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy or PharmD degree required.
• Valid Iowa pharmacist license or license within 3 months of entry.
• Mandatory Reporter.

Responsibilities

• Actively seeks to clarify the intent and desired outcome of the project.
• Actively pursues input/information relative to how current processes operate, key operational definitions, and steps necessary to access a computer file etc. such that the resident has a good baseline understanding of processes and tools which will be touched by the project.
• As necessary, creates all documents/outputs needed for each distinct phase of the project.
• Identifies and summarizes key learnings obtained from project participation.
• During clinical rotations, follows patients clinically to optimize drug therapy regimens.

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Pharmacy or Pharm D

Iowa Pharmacist License (or license within 3 months)

Through diverse rotations and impactful projects, residents build expertise in patient care, pharmacy operations, leadership, and quality improvement. In addition, residents work scheduled pharmacist shifts, strengthening their clinical skills and gaining valuable insight into how pharmacy services support patient outcomes and healthcare operations.
