Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a pharmacist leader to bridge operations and people leadership within our Iowa pharmacy team. The role focuses on professional development, staffing, mentorship, and driving consistency, quality, and continuous improvement across inpatient and satellite pharmacies.

The ideal candidate will oversee staffing, ensure safe and timely medication delivery, and contribute to policy development alongside the Clinical Pharmacy leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or 1 year of experience OR 3 years of experience OR Master’s Degree with no experience
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a pharmacist in Iowa
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Staffing and scheduling the pharmacy staff across main, IV room, and satellite locations
• Ensure medications are prepared and delivered timely and securely
• Maintain quality and safety through QC checks and reporting errors/near misses
• Assist with developing policies and procedures for the department

• Works closely with the decentralized pharmacist supervisor and clinical pharmacy manager to ensure adequate staffing to maintain inpatient pharmacy services by completing the schedule, hiring, training and supervising the pharmacy staff within the main, IV room and satellite pharmacy.
• Oversees and/or participates in assuring appropriate medications are prepared and delivered to care areas in a timely manner and are stored both securely and in a manner appropriate for both stability and effective workflow.
• Maintains quality and safety in the department through completion of quality control checks, identifying and reporting out medication errors and near misses, identifying process improvements and ensures appropriate documentation.
• Assist Clinical Pharmacy Manager with developing policies and procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 1 year experience in the discipline OR 3 years’ experience in the discipline OR Master’s Degree and no experience
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, pharmacist in Iowa.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire
