Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc is a Long-Term Care pharmacy seeking a dependable Pharmacy Purchasing & Receiving Technician to coordinate medication and supply purchasing, manage inventory, and ensure timely receipt of products from vendors.

The ideal candidate will maintain stock levels, support daily operations, and ensure compliance with pharmacy policies and regulatory requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pharmacy technician certification preferred or required per state regulations.
• Experience with pharmacy inventory, purchasing, or receiving preferred.
• Familiarity with NDCs and purchasing documentation preferred.
• Experience with FrameworkLTC and/or SureCost preferred.
• Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy important.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; travel as needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and flexible; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage purchasing of medications and supplies to ensure availability.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain stock.
• Verify product availability, pricing, expiration dates, and quantities.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments from vendors.
• Match POs with invoices and packing slips including NDCs.
• Enter received orders into inventory management system.
• Inspect shipments for damage and proper storage, including refrigerated meds.
• Label, organize, and store medications and supplies per policy.
• Monitor for short-dated or expired products and rotate stock.
• Handle controlled substances per DEA regulations and policy.
• Communicate discrepancies, shortages, or damaged shipments.
• Process purchasing reports and maintain inventory records.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and distributors to support operations.
• Assist with departmental training and provide team support.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policies and quality standards.
• Keep receiving and inventory area clean and organized.
• Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Regional Purchasing Manager.
