Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking an on-site Pharmacy Technician in the New York City metro area to support medication assistance programs for underserved patients.

The role focuses on applying to patient assistance programs, coordinating with physicians, patients, and pharmaceutical partners, and ensuring program compliance and timely processing of applications. Qualifications

• 2–4 years experience preferred.
• Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
• Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills required.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced health-system environment.

Responsibilities

• Recover drugs for indigent patients without third-party coverage.
• Serve as liaison to physicians, patients, and pharma companies regarding program systems.
• Answer questions on Cardinal Health reimbursement program policies.
• Visit health system contacts to promote program participation and service levels.
• Maintain daily contact with patients, nurses, physicians, social services, and pharmacy staff.
• Discuss medication options with physician and patient based on access and availability.
• Answer questions about day-to-day operations, product/vendor information.
• Manage and process applications to pharmaceutical manufacturers’ Patient Assistance Programs.
• Educate physicians, patients, and drug companies on program guidelines and referrals.
• Provide extensive patient education to determine eligibility for assistance.
• Identify and resolve rejected applications; access alternative regimens.
• Refer ineligible patients to other charitable resources.
• Monitor and track value of drugs recovered for billing/reporting.
• Maintain patient information confidentiality.
