Job summary

CommuniCare Family of Companies seeks a Pharmacy Order Entry Technician in Glen Burnie, MD. Under general supervision, you will ensure accurate order entry and patient service in a fast-paced pharmacy environment.

Responsibilities include entering new and refill orders, updating resident information in the pharmacy system, triaging calls, placing outbound clarifications, and supporting billing operations. MD-registered technicians with strong communication and attention to detail are encouraged

Qualifications

• Must be a registered or certified Pharmacy Technician in Maryland.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and input new/readmitted residents' information to dispense medications safely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain resident information in the pharmacy computer system and update as required.
• Use proper phone etiquette to provide facility/resident services and triage calls.
• Triage patient calls to appropriate party and respond to order inquiries.
• Enter new and refill orders into the pharmacy system for Staff Pharmacist review.
• Maintain customer information in the system and ensure accuracy.
• Place outbound calls to facilities to clarify orders as needed.
• Triage incoming faxes promptly and accurately and coordinate with billing operations.

Under general supervision of an Order Entry Supervisor, and in accordance with local, state, federal and company laws and regulations ensure delivery of excellent customer service through fast, professional and accurate communication.

• Review and input new/readmitted residents to include all pertinent information required to dispense medications in a safe, cost-effective manner for the resident.
• Maintain resident specific information by entering new information, updating and correcting information in pharmacy computer system as required.
• Use proper phone etiquette to provide facility/resident services.
• Triage patient calls to appropriate party.
• Answer phones to respond to orders inquires.
• Enter new and refill orders into pharmacy computer system for Staff Pharmacist review.

Qualifications

• MUST BE a Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland
• Previous experience in pharmacy or other related fields
• LTC pharmacy experience a plus
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High School or Equivalent
