Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Pharmacist to plan, organize, and provide safe pharmacy services in accordance with current pharmacy law and accreditation standards, coordinating patient services with nursing, delivery, and reimbursement departments.

The role includes supervising Pharmacy staff, admixture and dispensing in various settings, and ensuring quality control with thorough recordkeeping and patient education. HIPAA compliance and ongoing professional development are emphasized.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of PA at hire or sit for boards and obtain licensure within 120 days.
Post-graduate residency program in clinical pharmacy services.
Experience with admixture procedures; two years hospital or one year home care practice.
Supervisory experience.
Proof of current automobile insurance.
Current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Daily monitoring, assessment, and documentation of patients’ lab work and clinical status.
Make recommendations for therapy changes when needed based on cultures and patient response.
Select best drug delivery method for new patients.
Discuss patient therapy with patient as needed.
Maintain pharmacy pathways and quality control requirements.
Supervision and development of Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
Admixture and dispensing of medication and parenteral solutions to patients in alternate care settings.
Direct patient/caregiver teaching and care for Pharmacy Services patients.
Coordinate medication and supply deliveries to patients.
