Job summary

St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City seeks a Pharmacy Operations Manager to lead our inpatient pharmacy services, driving safety, compliance and efficiency. You will mentor staff, oversee compounding, and partner with nursing and medical teams to optimize medication workflows.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution. Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration residency is a strong plus.
• Current pharmacist licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with progressive leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Demonstrated expertise in sterile compounding regulations and medication safety practices.
• Exceptional communication, problem‑solving abilities, and a proven track record of leading teams through operational change.

Responsibilities

• Compounding Oversight: Maintain rigorous regulatory and quality control standards for our sterile and non-sterile compounding areas, ensuring full alignment with USP guidelines and institutional safety protocols.
• Medication Safety Leadership: Serve as a chair of the Medication Safety Committee, actively identifying risk reduction strategies, analyzing error data, and leading continuous quality improvement initiatives in the multidisciplinary team.
• Technician Supervision & Development: Lead, mentor, and empower our dedicated pharmacy technician team. Foster an engaging, collaborative culture focused on professional growth, high performance, and operational agility.
• Resource Management & Operational Flow: Oversee day-to-day medication distribution, inventory management, and workflow efficiencies to ensure seamless support for our nursing and medical staffs.
