Job summary

Jackson Hospital (Marianna) seeks a Pharmacy Operations Manager to lead daily department activities, ensure efficient procurement, storage, preparation and dispensing of medications, and uphold high standards of pharmaceutical care.

The role requires a BS or PharmD, 3–5 years of health system experience, and active Alabama licensure with required permits (controlled substances, parenteral, preceptor) and BCLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD degree.
• 3-5 years health system experience.
• Current licensure in the State of Alabama, controlled substances permit, parenteral license, preceptor license, BCLS provider

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of the Pharmacy Operations department on a daily basis.
• Oversee medication procurement, storage, preparation and dispensing to ensure optimal pharmaceutical care.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and ensure compliance with policies, procedures and standards.

Job description

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of the department on a daily basis. The Operations Manager assists in overseeing all medication procurement, storage, preparation and dispensing in the health system or organization; ensuring that the pharmacy provides optimal pharmaceutical care, participates in continuous quality improvement activities, meets all legal, accreditation and certification requirements; and complies with all applicable policies, procedures, guidelines and standards of the organization.

Education: Graduate of a School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD degree. Experience: 3-5 years health system experience. Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Current licensure in the State of Alabama, controlled substances permit, parenteral license, preceptor license, BCLS provider
