Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and a positive patient experience. Serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where allowed by law.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers within legal and company guidelines.
- Lead the selection, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians, including disciplinary actions and terminations.
Customer Experience
- Engage with customers and patients, resolve complaints, and respond to requests to ensure a positive experience. Share customer service best practices and develop strong relationships to anticipate needs and enhance healthcare services.
Operations
- Assist pharmacists with patient registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and healthcare services like vaccinations and health screenings, where legally permitted.
- Delegate and manage non-clinical tasks, ensure timely completion, and maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and stock levels.
- Prepare reports, manage inventory, and oversee pharmacy workflow and equipment. Ensure compliance with all policies, laws, and regulations, including Good Faith Dispensing and diversion monitoring.
People & Performance Management
- Manage pharmacy technician performance, including hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary actions. Monitor licensure and certifications for compliance.
Training & Personal Development
- Maintain PTCB certification and pursue ongoing professional development through training and education credits.
Communication
- Coordinate with the pharmacy team and participate in store meetings and check-ins.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital settings.
- Fluent in English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Leadership or management experience.
- Previous Walgreens employment with exceeding expectations in last evaluation.
