Job summary

Walgreens in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a full-time certified pharmacy technician. Under pharmacist supervision, you will support non-clinical operations, process prescriptions, register patients, and assist with vaccines and health services as allowed.

You will lead training and performance management of technicians, ensure compliance, manage inventory, and support store and pharmacy managers with operational excellence and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• Has one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations).

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including registration, data entry, preparation, counting and verification of medications.
• Complete patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision; assist with vaccines and health services as allowed by law.
• Delegate non-clinical work within company policies to maintain efficient workflow.
• Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
• Manage pharmacy workflow, schedule activities, and ensure compliance and security.
• Lead technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; monitor training completion.
• Monitor licensure, registrations, and certifications; support audits and asset protection.
