Job summary

Walgreens Co. in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a full-time certified pharmacy technician to perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities under a pharmacist's supervision.

You will manage pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, participate in hiring, scheduling and development of technicians, and lead training and performance management.

Qualifications

• PTCB certification required.
• One year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with patient care activities including patient registration and prescription data entry.
• Prepare medications for patients and assist with counting and verification where allowed by law.
• Support healthcare service offerings including vaccines and health screenings as allowed by law.
• Delegate non-clinical work within company policies and state/federal regulations to ensure on-time tasks and smooth workflow.
• Prepare and file reports required by the company and government agencies under pharmacist supervision.
• Lead training, coaching, and performance management of technicians and manage scheduling and onboarding.
