Job summary

Walgreens in Ashland City, TN is seeking a full-time, certified pharmacy technician to supervise day-to-day non-clinical operations under the pharmacist. You will help ensure efficient workflow and a positive patient experience while supporting pharmacy systems and data entry.

You’ll lead training and performance management of technicians, assist with vaccination services where allowed, manage inventory, and help drive store objectives with a strong focus on patient care and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in patient care including registration, data entry, medication preparation, counting and verification.
• Handle patient and physician calls under pharmacist supervision; support vaccines and health screenings where allowed.
• Delegate non-clinical work under policy; ensure on-time completion and efficient workflow.
• Prepare and file reports required by company and government agencies.
• Manage daily pharmacy workflow, schedule activities, allocate hours, and maintain clean, stocked environment.
• Ensure compliance and inventory management under pharmacist direction; manage annual inventory prep.
• Communicate prescription errors; support QA programs.
• Explain insurance claims processing and follow up with payers and providers.
