Job summary

Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia seeks an Assistant Director of Pharmacy to provide operational leadership, administrative oversight, and clinical management for the hospital's pharmacy department.

This role ensures safe, cost-efficient distribution of medications while maintaining compliance with FDA, DEA, State Boards, and Joint Commission standards; it drives quality improvement and supports staff development across the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school.
• 3 years of hospital and/or ambulatory pharmacy experience with progressive responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of modern hospital/ambulatory pharmacy practice and clinical therapeutics.
• Demonstrated leadership with ability to manage complex team dynamics.
• Analytical ability to interpret clinical, operational, and financial data for decision making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across multidisciplinary teams.
• Registered Pharmacist in the State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate pharmacy staff; foster accountability and patient safety.
• Ensure adherence to FDA, DEA, Department of Health, State Board of Pharmacy, and Joint Commission standards.
• Assist in managing the pharmaceutical budget and cost containment strategies.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to optimize formulary management and medication safety protocols.
• Oversee optimization of pharmacy automation systems and EHR workflows.
