Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a Pharmacy Services Manager to oversee distributive and clinical services across departments. You will supervise pharmacists and technicians, supervise educational programs, and ensure compliance with state boards and national standards.

The role includes designing and implementing staff training, budgeting support, performance improvements, and cross-team collaboration to optimize patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold a pharmacist license in WV, MD, or PA.
• Experience in health-system pharmacy administration is preferred.
• Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements staff orientation, training, and education to ensure competence.
• Provides drug distribution and clinical services meeting national standards.
• Directs activities of staff and monitors performance; clarifies expectations.
• Oversees supervision of staff in primary areas of responsibility.
• Performs staffing, interviewing, hiring, and performance management for direct-report employees.
• Ensures policies and procedures related to drug distribution are followed.
• Coordinates staff schedules and daily work plans.
• Investigates trends in pharmacy practice and develops policies and operation manuals.
• Develops policies and training materials to support clinical and operational services.
• Introduces new products, technology, and procedures to improve operations.
• Collaborates with administrative team to determine product standards and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in annual budget and labor/capital planning for the department.
• Implements systems to promote safe and effective use of pharmacy resources.
• Develops performance improvement indicators and pursues quality improvements in services.
• Ensures timely submission of data and reports for performance improvement.
• Promotes communication between pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
