Job summary

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist license in the state where the site is located or willing to obtain by position start date.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance.
• Experience with applying state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Responsibilities

• Directs the operation of the Walgreens Local Specialty Pharmacy and improves sales, profits, and image.
• Oversees patient management, enrollment in clinical programs, and coordination with providers.
• Ensures compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, and payer contracts; handles prior authorizations as needed.
• Manages store and pharmacy departments, inventories, budgeting, and reporting requirements.
• Schedules staff, coordinates daily activities, and ensures excellent customer service in both front-end and pharmacy.
• Leads performance management, training, and development of team members.
