Qualifications

  • 3+ years of pharmacy experience and 1+ years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience in hospital or home infusion settings is a plus.

Job Details:

The Pharmacy Manager of Regulatory Compliance is responsible for implementing, tracking, monitoring, reviewing, interpreting, and communicating all aspects of existing, proposed, and newly enacted federal and state rules and regulations as it pertains to the practice of allied health professionals. Participation requirements pertaining to the practice of pharmacy, nursing, and nutrition within the health system. Collaborate with the Director, other managers, supervisors, and appropriate staff who are responsible and accountable for decisions affecting compliance with enacted federal and state rules and regulations. Participates in the development of policies and procedures related to compliance with accrediting agencies and with federal and state rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  1. Research the rules and regulations of each individual Board(s) of Pharmacy and Nursing (nurses and dieticians) to make sure the services provided (ROE, Telepharmacy, providing practices in new areas etc.) are permitted and will identify the rules and regulations and inform the leadership team of the findings.
  2. Present any questions to the Board of Pharmacy or Nursing to get clarity on the rules and regulations in question.
  3. Apply for state licensure for appropriate pharmacies. Compile all pertinent information, documentation, signatures etc. Complete, submit and maintain a file of the documentation.
  4. If Individual state licensure is required by pharmacists, nurses and/or dietitians, work with management to identify team members to obtain licensure. Provide them with the details to complete this task.
  5. Maintains records of the renewal requirements and manages the timely submittal of renewal applications to keep CarepathRx licensure current and in compliance with each Board of Pharmacy. Electronic copies of all applications are maintained by the department.
  6. Follows all applications (pharmacy(s) and pharmacists) through to completion and ensures all licenses are displayed appropriately.
  7. Liaison between CarepathRx and the state boards to manage and resolve any issues that may arise.
  8. Complete gap analyses for compliance with additions and changes to the standards, rules, and regulations. Assess potential impact, current trends and issues and timeliness for compliance. Develop and/or update policies and procedures as warranted or yearly.
  9. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  1. Excellent research and verbal/communication skills.
  2. Excellent organizational skills.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
  4. 340b experience, preferred.
  5. Legislative and regulatory experience, preferred.

Requirements

  1. B.S./PharmD degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or JD, preferred.
  2. 3+ years of pharmacy experience.
  3. 3+ years of hospital or home infusion experience preferred.
  4. 1+ years of management experience preferred.
