Job summary

Walgreens seeks a Pharmacy Manager to lead a high-volume community pharmacy in Texas. You will ensure accurate dispensing, regulatory compliance, and outstanding patient care while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, developing and coaching the team, expanding clinical services such as immunizations and disease state management, and building relationships with local healthcare providers to promote Walgreens’ pharmacy services.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on proper medication use, side effects, interactions, and OTC products.
• Performs dispensing, compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and efficient workflow; oversees staff scheduling and shift changes.
• Maintains pharmacy information systems, inventory management, and point-of-sale operations.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to develop strategic business opportunities.
• Participates in immunizations, diagnostic testing, and wellness services.
• Leads performance management and staff development.
• Ensures good faith dispensing policy adherence.
