Job summary

Walgreens Pharmacy is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide empathetic consulting, immunizations, and clinical services. You will ensure accurate dispensing, manage workflow, and lead pharmacy staff with training and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited educational institution.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Internal candidates: average leadership rating and no disciplinary actions in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues to ensure a POSITIVE patient experience.
• Counsels patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and generics; refers to medical provider as needed.
• Performs compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, manages pharmacy workflow, scheduling, and shift changes for efficient operation.
• Maintains pharmacy systems knowledge, supports staff and patients with IT; seeks productivity improvements.
• Manages insurance claims processing and resolves issues with payers and providers.
• Supports patient registration, virtual product reviews, and community outreach; enhances health services awareness.
