Job summary

Walgreens Pharmacy in Illinois seeks a Pharmacy Manager to oversee operations, staff performance, and patient care quality. You will ensure compliant dispensing, lead workflow optimization, and drive clinical services such as immunizations and medication reviews.

You will collaborate with store leadership to deliver excellent patient experiences, manage inventories, and align with regulatory guidelines while supporting professional development of the pharmacy team.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited school.
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, and insurance billing.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Internal candidates: average leadership rating of 3.0+ and no disciplinary actions in last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, contraindications, privacy, generics, and OTC products.
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Reviews, interprets, and accurately dispenses prescribed medications.
• Ensures the pharmacy operates in compliance with regulations and policies; oversees scheduling and shift changes.
• Supports Good Faith Dispensing per state/federal laws when filling prescriptions.
• Collaborates with Store Manager to define new strategic business opportunities.
• Maintains pharmacy IT systems knowledge: workflow, billing, documentation, inventory, POS.
