Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited educational institution
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and insurance billing
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substances laws

Responsibilities

• Counsels patients on usage, side effects, interactions, and generics; refers to medical provider as needed
• Performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management
• Reviews, interprets, and dispenses prescribed medications accurately
• Ensures pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, policies and standards; manages staff scheduling and opening/closing
• Maintains Good Faith Dispensing policy compliance with state and federal laws
• Collaborates with Store Manager to define new strategic business opportunities
• Maintains IT knowledge of pharmacy systems and supports staff and patients with technology
• Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately and resolves issues with insurers
• Follows up with medical providers on prescriptions, dosages, refills, interactions, and allergies
• Performs clinical services such as immunizations, diagnostic testing, and disease state management
• Partners with centralized support for patient registration and issue resolution; conducts virtual product reviews when needed
• Manages maintenance, housekeeping, and improvement of the pharmacy department
• Prepares and submits all required records and reports to run the pharmacy business
• Addresses employee relations concerns and maintains morale; oversees training and performance reviews
• Develops relationships with local medical community to promote growth opportunities

Education
