Alchemy is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Specialist to support our central PharmOps team and multi-state network. You will coordinate inventory, scheduling, prior authorization workflows, and onboarding across sites, partnering with pharmacists and technicians to maintain consistency and efficient operations.
The role emphasizes organization, proactive communication, and the ability to manage priorities across locations. Travel up to 50% may be required to support pharmacy sites and initiatives.
As a Pharmacy Operations Specialist, you will be a hands‑on support resource for our central Pharmacy Operations (PharmOps) team, helping keep our multi‑state pharmacy network running smoothly day to day. You will report to the Director of Pharmacy Operations while working collaboratively with the entire PharmOps team — including our Managers of Pharmacy Operations — and with pharmacy teams across every site. In short, you are the connective tissue that keeps our pharmacies aligned, supported, and operating consistently.
In this role, you will be a first line of operational support for our pharmacy teams: fielding day‑to‑day questions, coordinating inventory and scheduling, supporting prior authorization and third‑party billing workflows, and helping onboard and train new staff. You will partner closely with pharmacists, pharmacists‑in‑charge (PICs), and technicians across the network, owning the coordination and follow‑through that keeps sites running while escalating complex issues to the broader team as needed.
We are looking for someone organized, resourceful, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities across many locations at once. You should be a natural coordinator who enjoys being the person sites can count on — quick to respond, detail‑oriented with inventory and scheduling, and eager to learn new systems and processes. This role is ideal for someone with strong pharmacy operations or technician experience who wants to grow into a broader, cross‑site operations role.
The Pharmacy Operations Specialist reports to the Director of Pharmacy Operations and works collaboratively across the entire Pharmacy Operations team.
As Founders, Alchemy is the culmination of everything we have worked on and dedicated ourselves to throughout our careers, and its mission is woven into the fabric of our lives and why we do what we do. Together, we have spent 18 years in Africa building the largest HIV access program in the world; set up, operated, and scaled pharmacies that have dispensed over 25M+ prescriptions to patients across all 50 states in the US; and deployed consumer product experiences improving pharmacy access for millions of patients' lives globally.
These are our founding principles and what they mean for you as a potential member of our team.
We are fierce defenders of patient choice. We will always fight to ensure patients get the care and medications they deserve. As a member of the team, this means you will be expected to find innovative, outside‑of‑the‑box solutions to solve the systemic hurdles and friction that exist in our healthcare system. You will not accept the status quo in healthcare, and you will push through barriers to fight for patients at all times.
Our mission is to protect the safety net for providers that deliver care to our most vulnerable and underserved communities. As a member of the team, understanding and empathizing with the needs and requirements of our customers who serve these patient communities will be critical to your success. You understand and embrace the fact that this is real on‑the‑ground healthcare, where often the best technology or clinical interventions will fall short, and you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and solve the problem by any means necessary.
Working beyond the four walls of the pharmacy, we deeply believe clinical innovation drives superior patient outcomes and financial results. As a member of the team, you will uphold and uplevel the physical, clinical, and digital pillars of the business. You are someone who is excited by the challenge of connecting the dots in new ways every day between the physical, clinical, and digital.
We win when your covered entity partners and their patients succeed. We as a team collectively embrace successes and failures together while upholding a high‑performance and results‑driven culture.
We embrace our customer's problems as our own and empower them to own their identity by taking back control of their 340B program. As a member of the team, you embrace a similar philosophy across the teams within the company by fostering a collaborative and cross‑functional work environment. You don't wait for the problem to arise, but instead anticipate it, own it, and solve it. And when you succeed, you share the credit with your team, and you take ownership and accountability for failures along the way.
Healthcare is slow to change. We keep chipping away at the root of the problem, striving to improve clinical outcomes and experiences. As a member of the team, you are able to move quickly and efficiently to get things done while understanding that it will take years of sustained effort to move the needle in healthcare. You are someone who gets excited by big, hard problems that require years of creative and agile execution. And along the way, you are never afraid to question why something is the way it is, finding ways to deliver better outcomes for customers and patients through sustained delivery of results over long stretches of time.
We are powering the future of 340B pharmacy, starting with in‑house pharmacies for covered entities. We are building exclusively clinic‑owned and vendor‑operated pharmacies focusing on STD clinics, Ryan White grantees, and FQHCs. We provide the entire physical, clinical, and digital infrastructure needed to operate and grow best‑in‑class 340B programs.
