Job description

Job Summary

Assist Pharmacy Technicians in completing routine tasks such as medication delivery, expiration date inspections, receiving, replenishment, cleaning, and retail pharmacy tasks.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Medication Delivery
    • Perform Batch and Off Batch Production Run Delivery
    • Perform Batch Production Run Delivery with Medication Cassettes
    • Deliver Medications to Beds from Retail Pharmacy
  2. Medication Expiration Date Inspection
    • Conduct expiration date inspections in the Pharmacy Department, Nursing Units, and Ambulatory Care Sites
  3. Receiver/Medication Replenishment
    • Receive purchased medications from manufacturers and wholesalers
    • Replenish medications and supplies to pharmacy storage, Pyxis MedStation ES, and surgical centers
    • Retrieve medications during pharmaceutical recalls
    • Investigate and resolve Pyxis MedStation ES malfunctions
  4. Cleaning
    • Clean medication storage shelves, bins, refrigerators, and Pyxis MedStations
  5. Retail Pharmacy
    • Receiver
    • Register/Cashier
    • Patient Triage
    • Answer phone calls
Education Requirements

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience: 1 year in hospital pharmacy

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Windows operating system.
