Job summary

The Kroger Co. in Kentucky seeks a pharmacist to fulfill prescription needs with precise accuracy and provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care. You will ensure legal compliance, maintain inventory, and uphold Kroger’s safe, clean environment.

You will monitor drugs, maintain security for controlled substances, and support staff with training and equipment upkeep to deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• 1 year of retail experience.
• Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).

Responsibilities

• Fulfill customers' prescription needs with focus on accuracy.
• Provide patient counseling and pharmaceutical care to customers.
• Ensure pharmacies comply with local, state and federal laws (HIPAA).
• Maintain professional image and adhere to company dress standards.
• Achieve knowledge of trade area, customers and competition.
• Create a positive pharmacy department image through service and cooperation.
• Monitor inventory, policies, records, and scheduling per policy.
• Maintain records and security on all scheduled drugs (narcotics).
• Follow procedures for handling pharmacy products from authorized sources.
• Utilize accuracy tools and 24-hour post dispensing audit report.
• Establish/maintain record keeping for legal compliance and Kroger policies.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, organized work area and customer counter.
• Ensure timely handling of product returns per policy.
• Maintain equipment and reference materials; ensure staff familiarity.
• Post signage and keep staff informed of hours and services.
• Broaden personal knowledge and pharmacy skills.
• Must be able to perform essential functions with/without accommodation.
