MedWiz Pharmacy in Foxborough, MA is seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical IV Technician to join our team. You will prepare sterile IV medications for long-term care facilities, ensuring accuracy, cleanroom compliance, and patient safety.

This role requires experience in sterile compounding, adherence to USP <797> standards, attention to detail, and the ability to work a 3:30 pm to 12:00 am shift, with weekends/holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a pharmacy technician training program preferred.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in sterile compounding, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in aseptic techniques and sterile compounding procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Pharmaceutical IV Technician

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IV Technician to join our team at Medwiz Pharmacy. The IV Technician will play a crucial role in the compounding and preparation of sterile intravenous medications for long-term care facilities and patients. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in sterile compounding techniques, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Sterile Compounding:Prepare sterile intravenous medications according to established protocols and procedures. This includes accurately measuring ingredients, compounding medications, and ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
  • Quality Assurance:Perform routine inspections and quality control checks to ensure the integrity and sterility of compounded medications. Follow strict aseptic techniques and maintain cleanliness in the compounding area to prevent contamination.
  • Inventory Monitoring:Monitor inventory levels of compounding supplies and medications, and assist in the ordering and stocking of pharmaceutical products. Keep accurate records of inventory transactions and expiration dates.
  • Compliance:Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines governing pharmacy practice, including USP 797standards for sterile compounding. Stay informed about updates and changes in regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate the preparation and delivery of intravenous medications. Communicate effectively to ensure seamless workflow and patient safety.
  • Patient Care:Maintain a patient-centered approach in all aspects of job responsibilities. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of intravenous medications to long-term care facilities and patients, addressing any concerns or inquiries with professionalism and empathy.

The regular work schedule for this position is approximately 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) and may require additional hours/overtime as necessary including weekends on a rotating and/or as needed basis.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception, Ability to adjust focus and Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, bend, and walk.
