Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician II to support the RI Hospital Pharmacy operations. You will receive medications and supplies, ensure proper handling of products, and maintain accurate inventory across Brown University Health facilities.

You will use RxStrategies and ConsortiEX for inventory management, and you will help ensure compliance with DSCSA, USP 800, and NIOSH guidelines while supporting purchasing and distribution activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Maintains current Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician II licensure.
• Holds and maintains CPhT certification; sits for exam within 6 months if not yet certified.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Receive medications and supplies at the loading dock and transport within the RI Hospital Pharmacy.
• Identify suspected illegitimate medications and take appropriate action.
• Initiate and execute electronic tracing of medications and supplies received and transferred out.
• Use computerized systems to perform stock receiving and inventory operations; troubleshoot as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels with the pharmacy inventory management system (RxStrategies, ConsortiEX) and generate reports.
• Process, sort, sign, and file pharmacy supply chain documents per Brown University Health policies.
• Comply with DSCSA, USP 800, and NIOSH guidelines for hazardous drugs handling.
• Communicate stock receiving status to staff, management, and customers.
