Job summary

Mercy Health – Youngstown is seeking a Pharmacy Services Materials Coordinator to manage purchasing, inventory, and compliance for pharmaceutical products. You will collaborate with system and site teams to maintain standard ordering and approvals, and ensure proper documentation for narcotic controls and drug programs.

The role requires 2 years in pharmacy materials or related field, a high school diploma, and pharmacy technician registration as needed by the state.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2 years of pharmacy field or materials management experience required.
• Registration/licensing as Pharmacy Technician per state requirements; CSOS/DEA familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with system and local pharmacy teams to ensure standard ordering and approvals.
• Works with the authorizing pharmacist to complete CSOS and DEA 222 for narcotics.
• Oversees perpetual inventory system compliance and accountability.
• Monitors outdated items and manages returns.
• Coordinates annual or required physical inventory procedures.
• Collaborates with AP to reconcile invoices in a timely manner.
• Aligns purchases with contracts, programs, and initiatives.
• Plans with teams to address drug shortages.
• Processes and authorizes payment for invoices per procedure.
• Maintains pharmacy inventory documentation for DSCSA and 340b compliance.
• Guides waste and charge discrepancy tracking processes.
