Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, part of Trinity Health, seeks a Pharmacy Intern (PRN/Casual) to support pharmacists in medication preparation, dispensing, and patient care. Flexible scheduling and a clear pathway for professional growth are offered within our Pharmacy department.

The ideal candidate is enrolled in a PharmD program, holds or is eligible for Ohio Intern licensure, and demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills to provide high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and in good standing at an accredited College of Pharmacy program.
• Current licensure as a Pharmacy Intern with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in preparation, dispensing, record keeping and delivery of medications.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and other sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Compound medications with correct technique and calculations.
• Assist in filling orders/prescriptions and proper labeling.
• Provide drug information to patients and health care professionals.
• Prepare and restock drugs for automated dispensing cabinets.
• Perform clinical duties under supervision, including medication reconciliation.
• Assist in inventory management and non-formulary requests.
