Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System, part of Trinity Health, is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced hospital pharmacy. The role emphasizes medication preparation, dispensing, sterile compounding, inventory control, and clinical exposure under pharmacist supervision.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with Ohio intern licensure or eligibility, and possess strong communication and patient-care skills to support safe and effective medication use.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy program (PharmD).
• Valid Ohio Pharmacy Intern License or eligible to obtain before employment.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with preparation, dispensing, record keeping, counseling, and delivery of medications using aseptic technique.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile products, including chemotherapy.
• Compound medications with accurate calculations and proper labeling.
• Assist in filling orders/prescriptions and inventory management.
• Provide drug information to patients and health care professionals.
• Support automated dispensing cabinets and perform clinical duties under supervision.
