Job summary

You must be enrolled in an accredited PharmD program with eligibility for Ohio Pharmacy Intern licensure and strong communication and customer service skills. Interns assist with medication preparation, dispensing, compounding, and technology-enabled

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited College of Pharmacy program (PharmD).
• Current licensure as Pharmacy Intern with Ohio State Board of Pharmacy or eligible to obtain prior to employment.
• Experience in hospital pharmacy or as a pharmacy intern preferred."
• Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in preparation, dispensing, record keeping, counseling, and medication delivery using proper aseptic technique.
• Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile products, including chemotherapy.
• Compound medications with proper technique and calculations.
• Assist pharmacist in filling orders/prescriptions and maintaining proper labeling.
• Support inventory management and use of automated pharmacy technology.
• Provide drug information to patients and health professionals.
• Prepare and restock drugs for automated cabinets and assist in medication reconciliation and other clinical duties.
• Contribute to medication histories and renal dosing under supervision.
• Assist in inventory management and non-formulary requests.
