Job summary

Walgreens in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn the patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, under supervision.

You will model a distinctive customer experience, develop relationships with customers, and participate in medication counseling and other health services as part of the team.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Learn to provide the best patient experience through assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with regulations.
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under supervision, including entering, third party processing, and dispensing prescriptions.
• Support pharmacy team with patient counseling, health services, and inventory management.
• Report prescription errors promptly and adhere to quality procedures.
• Maintain orderly pharmacy area and assist with cashiering and customer flow as needed.
