Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to learn and support the pharmacist and pharmacy team in delivering excellent patient care. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions, while modeling a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

Under pharmacist supervision, you will assist with entering, third party processing, filling and dispensing prescriptions, patient counseling, and health services within the state scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a pharmacy program.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willing to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Models and shares customer service best practices to deliver a delightful experience.
• Under pharmacist supervision, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with policy.
• Enter, process third party, fill and dispense prescriptions under supervision.
• Assist pharmacists in patient care services within state scope of practice.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to policy.
• Maintain accurate cash handling and assist with inventory management.
