Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the pharmacist and pharmacy team in providing excellent patient care in a store setting. You will learn to use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions while helping deliver a distinctive customer experience.

You will work under pharmacist supervision, engage in patient counseling, and participate in inventory management and store operations.

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program.
Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Except in Puerto Rico).
Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

Greets customers and patients, assists with products and services, resolves issues to ensure a positive experience.
Models and shares customer service best practices with team to deliver a delightful experience.
Develops strong relationships with customers.
Under supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy per state and company policy.
Help with entering, processing third party claims, filling and dispensing prescriptions.
Assist pharmacists in patient counseling and other health services within the scope of practice.
Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and follow policy for dispensing errors.
Assist with inventory management and store upkeep in the Pharmacy Department.
