Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Intern in Florham Park, NJ to support the pharmacist and team in delivering safe, compliant patient care. You will use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and help provide counseling and health services under supervision.

You’ll learn state and federal regulations, Walgreens policies, and best practices for customer experience, cash handling, and inventory management while developing professional healthcare knowledge.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a School of Pharmacy program.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with products and services to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer-service best practices with team to deliver a distinctive experience.
• Develop strong relationships with customers.
• Learn from store and pharmacy team members and leadership.
• Assist pharmacist under supervision with dispensing and policy compliance.
• Process prescriptions per standard operating procedures.
• Support patient care activities such as counseling and health services.
• Report prescription errors promptly and adhere to QA procedures.
• Handle cash register transactions and guide customers to OTC products.
• Assist with inventory management and stocking of pharmaceuticals.
• Maintain clean, stocked pharmacy area and adhere to policies.
• Complete required training and stay informed on healthcare developments.
